If you’re reading this, odds are you already know us. On the off chance you found this humble blog from some random corner of the internet, I’ll make a brief introduction. I’m Kristen and my husband is Jerry.

We’re planning a cross-country move from Oregon to Maine.

It’s wild to think about how I’ve dreamed of moving to Maine since I was eight- I’ve lived in so many houses since then! In the months leading up the move, I’ll be reflecting on the meaning of home and its various iterations throughout my life. You can read my musings over on our blog.

Join us as we sell our home, say some difficult goodbyes, and actually move all our stuff, two cars, a dog, a cat and a college kid to the East Coast.

Follow along as we buy a fixer-upper and start fixing it up, and eventually, cheer us on as we adapt to life as Mainers.

This is Soren. He goes to school at Oregon State, studying Zoology. He’s a PNW kid through and through. Leaving him will be extremely hard but visits will be so much fun!

This is Sage. We’re so excited that she is also making the cross-country move! We’ll be dropping her off at college just a few hours away from our new house!

Jerry’s eldest daughter, Katie, just got married to Mikhail. It was the most perfect day! Again, saying goodbye will be really tough, but seeing them on both coasts will be a blast!

We’re also saying goodbye to my Mama, my brothers and sisters-in-law, my Dad and stepmom up in Washington, and friends that are so dear to us, we consider them family. None of that will be easy. Priority one will be getting our guest room ready!
